Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Former two-time unified boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
