Intensive Russian Assaults Eliminate Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to water systems, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a different assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Russian forces has increased strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and applying penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen missiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the urban area experienced heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were injured.

The attacks follow periods of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to identify.

Government officials told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
